Position Summary

The Senior Medical Biller performs a variety of duties to accomplish the billing and collection of all patient accounts.

Responsibilities

• Input insurance information for patient admission.
• Follow up on all patient accounts/claims in a timely manner.
• Produces bills for all third-party insurance/patient accounts.
• Bills Medicare, Medicare Advantage, BCBS and Commercial carriers, providing necessary documentation for the claims to be processed.
• Input billing data utilizing the hospital's computer system.
• Discusses insurance coverage with patients, doctors, and third-party carriers.
• Bills electronically via Waystar Revenue Cycle Management and Medicare DDE System.
• Sets up patient payment plans.
• Performs other duties as assigned/required by this position.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent required.
• One to three years of accounting office experience in a hospital or health care setting required.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Working knowledge of third-party insurances, billing, and follow-up procedures, admitting, insurance verification and collections required.

Schedule

Monday - Friday 8:00am-5:00pm
