Senior Medical Assistant

Responsibilities

  • Works under the direction of the physician and RN to take vital signs, assist with data collection, provide direct care, and assist with tasks as directed.
  • Captures and documents vital signs including height, weight, blood pressure, pulse ox, temperature, and other relevant information.
  • Ensures exam rooms are stocked with medical supplies and maintains cleanliness according to practice standards.
  • Performs routine checks on equipment and inventory, ensuring all items are within their expiration dates.
  • Schedules and verifies appointments for patients, confirming insurance coverage and obtaining necessary signatures.
  • Registers patients, gathers all required forms, and records necessary information.
  • Maintains patient charts and logs, providing secretarial support as needed.
  • May perform specialized procedures such as blood draws and EKGs.
  • Travels to other locations as needed.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Experience: 3-5 years’ experience as a Medical Assistant preferred.
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Licenses / Certifications: Certification as a Medical Assistant preferred.
