Senior Mechanical Engineer / Hands-on /Automotive

About the role

A robotics and automation startup in Massachusetts is building a next-generation system to fully automate a process that has been done manually for decades. This is a highly hands-on role where you’ll be designing and developing the core mechatronic systems behind an industrial robotics platform. You’ll see your work go from concept to real, physical machines that actively lift, move, and service objects in real time. Responsibilities

• 55% Mechanical system design & development
• 25% Prototyping
• 15% Engineering validation
• 5% Cross-functional collaboration

Day-to-day breakdown:

• 60% hands-on work
• 10% leadership/ownership
• 30% team collaboration

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in robotics, automation, or mechanical engineering
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• Strong experience designing electro-mechanical systems from concept through production
• Proficiency with CAD, GD&T, and FEA
• Experience troubleshooting and debugging mechanical systems
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis now and in the future

Nice to Have

• Experience with DFM
• Familiarity with MATLAB or Python
• Experience collaborating with embedded or cross-functional engineering teams
