Senior Mechanical Engineer - Energy Solutions
About the role
CMTA, a Legence Company, is seeking an experienced Engineer to join the Energy Solutions division. This division is the fastest-growing part of our large and expanding company. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of experience with an Energy Services company or a consulting engineering/commissioning firm, along with an undergraduate degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited university. Strong business development and client relationship management skills are desired, particularly familiarity with state-specific K-12 design-build procurement processes.
Responsibilities
- Introduce and explain performance contracting to potential clients, identifying opportunities for long-term value.
- Articulate how and why CMTA is unique in our approach to performance contracting, emphasizing both technical and financial aspects.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships to foster repeat business, referrals, and long-term partnerships.
- Participate in business development efforts, including client meetings, industry events, and proposal development.
- Lead the development phase, including site visits, audits, and energy calculations.
- Direct the engineering design team in producing drawings and specifications.
- Ensure the bidding process results in quality and competitive outcomes.
- Collaborate with the client to finalize the performance contract.
- Work with the construction manager to ensure a smooth construction period.
- Direct the commissioning process to validate performance.
- Support the client through the warranty phase as needed.
- Collaborate with the M&V professional to develop the first-year M&V report.
- Demonstrate knowledge of state-specific K-12 design-build procurement processes, ensuring alignment with state and district requirements.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience with an Energy Services company OR a consulting engineering/commissioning firm.
- Undergraduate degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
