About the role

Join a dynamic team of engineers dedicated to sustainable infrastructure solutions. Our global Mechanical Engineering Department works on a wide range of projects including conventional, combined heat and power, hydro, nuclear, solar, and renewable energy projects.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with various design engineering execution teams across the US and internationally
  • Perform all aspects of mechanical system design engineering and analysis for assigned systems
  • Acquire knowledge of Black & Veatch and industry standards and implement them in project development
  • Prepare and manage complex engineering deliverables, conduct research, and develop project design recommendations
  • Actively coordinate with all other internal/external team members on complex projects
  • Identify future client needs and how to better position Black & Veatch for the future

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from a recognized accredited program
  • At least 11 years of related work experience
  • Active engineering registration or licensure in relevant fields

Qualifications

  • Experience in instrument and service air systems
  • Knowledge of demineralized water supply and make-up systems
  • Experience with natural, hydrogen, and nitrogen gas supply systems
  • Skills in pipe sizing, thickness calculations, pump sizing, control valve sizing, heat exchanger sizing, and atmospheric tank sizing
  • Experience in P&ID development and air, gas, water, and steam systems

Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proficiency in engineering software and tools
