Senior Mechanical Engineer (Contract)

About the role

Ceribell is a medical technology company dedicated to improving the diagnosis and management of patients with serious neurological conditions. The Ceribell System is a novel, point-of-care EEG platform designed to address the needs of patients in acute care settings. It is currently used in hundreds of community hospitals, large academic facilities, and major integrated delivery networks (IDNs) across the country. We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to support our core research and product development activities.

Responsibilities

• Help design mechanical parts and subassemblies that meet user, functional and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate closely with internal R&D team members to ensure the design and manufacture of a successful product.
• Research and work with external suppliers to develop custom parts and ensure they meet requirements.
• Participate in risk management activities and work with the Quality team to develop verification and validation processes.
• Conduct reliability testing including drop, ingress, thermal and cycle.
• Produce extensive documentation including engineering drawings, bill of materials, tolerance analysis and design reviews.
• DFX: assist with assembly optimization, fixture design and line bring-up.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Science or Engineering
• Experience with medical device research and/or development
• 5+ years of experience with mechanical design and CAD tools
• 3+ years of experience with manufacturing and assembly process development
