Senior Mechanical Engineer
About the role
As a Senior Mechanical Components Design and Analysis Engineer, you will provide direct, daily technical engineering support for component engineering. You will also lead technical responsibility for design and analysis of major components, such as the steam generator and pressurizer, to support the operating nuclear fleet, including upgrades, repairs, and modifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Design activities may include coordinating installation, fabrication, testing and qualification of new repairs or replacements
- Apply engineering to assess and qualify pressure boundary components and internals to address degraded or deviations in existing operating conditions and provide recommended resolutions
- Develop solutions to address complex problems, including emergent customer outage issues
- Perform engineering calculations to support equipment and process designs including Finite Element Analyses using ANSYS or other similar software tools
- Meet project commitments, schedules, and project budgets. Ensure compliance to safety and regulatory requirements
- Address customer and regulatory requirements and concerns
- Provide technical scope descriptions and cost estimates for customer offers. Identify new business opportunities and implement strategic technical solutions
- Prepare technical reports and present technical information to internal groups, customers and regulators
- Provide headquarters or customer site support for component inspections and maintenance during scheduled maintenance and inspection outages
Qualifications
- B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent
- 5-7 Years of engineering experience in an engineering role
- Proficient in ANSYS
- Working knowledge of ASME codes
- Demonstrated experience in scope development, schedule development, budget development and monitoring to meet target goals
- Teamwork skills – including leadership and participation
- Communicate technical information
- Familiarity with creating drawings in Inventor or SolidWorks or similar CAD program
Pay
The estimated base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon qualifications, is $85,200 to $106,500 per year.
