About the role

The Senior Mechanical Engineer works in a fast-paced multi-disciplined team environment. Responsibilities include designing mechanical systems for new facilities, additions, and renovations, providing technical leadership, and coordinating with clients and other project teams.

Responsibilities

  • Work with clients, project teams, code officials, contractors, and others to address mechanical issues and develop effective working relationships.
  • Design HVAC systems based on project scope or client requests.
  • Perform load/energy calculations using software like HAP, IES, and similar tools.
  • Conduct existing building surveys and document HVAC systems.
  • Develop system design calculations and select equipment for buildings.
  • Write and edit project specifications.
  • Create detailed design documents, reports, and studies.
  • Research and comply with codes, standards, and design guidelines.
  • Coordinate work with other disciplines.
  • Provide construction administration services.
  • Conduct quality assurance and quality control checks on design work.
  • Lead project teams and serve as the primary contact for clients.
  • Aid in the procurement of new work, including developing client relations and participating in project interviews.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • LEED certification/experience, preferred
  • Minimum 10 years of design experience
  • Knowledge in the design of HVAC systems
  • Knowledge of process piping, a plus
  • Knowledge and understanding of codes, standards, and design guidelines

Pay

The base salary range for this position is $125,000 to $150,000. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Schedule

Up to 20% travel is expected.
