Senior Mechanical Engineer
About the role
The Senior Mechanical Engineer works in a fast-paced multi-disciplined team environment. Responsibilities include designing mechanical systems for new facilities, additions, and renovations, providing technical leadership, and developing HVAC system designs based on project scopes and client requests.
Responsibilities
- Work with clients, project teams, code officials, contractors, and others to address mechanical issues and develop effective working relationships.
- Design HVAC systems for various market types, perform load/energy calculations, conduct existing building surveys, and prepare detailed design documents.
- Lead project teams, serve as the primary contact for clients, assist in procurement of new work, and oversee construction administration services.
- Conduct code compliance research, provide QA/QC of design work, and assist in the development of client relations and project interviews.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Minimum of 10 years of design experience
- Knowledge in the design of HVAC systems
- Knowledge of process piping, a plus
- Knowledge and understanding of codes, standards, and design guidelines
Qualifications
- LEED certification / experience, preferred
- Excellent work ethic and attitude
- Good communication skills and organizational abilities
- Ability to lead a team and work as a team
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and MS Office
- Ability to travel up to 20%

Pay
The base salary range for this position is $125,000 to $150,000. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
Schedule
Location: Oakland, CA. Travel: up to 20%.
