Senior Mechanical Engineer
Job Summary
The Senior Mechanical Engineer serves to work in a fast-paced multi-discipline team environment. Responsibilities are primarily focused on the design of mechanical systems for new facilities, additions, and renovation projects.
Responsibilities
- Develop HVAC system designs of a given project based on scope of work and/or client RFPs
- Design and evaluate HVAC/mechanical systems across diverse market sectors, including load/energy calculations and equipment selection
- Prepare detailed design documents, BIM models, specifications, reports, and code compliance research
- Conduct building surveys, document existing systems, and perform construction administration, reviews, and QA/QC
- Cook up with other disciplines and lead project teams, serving as the primary client contact
- Mentor junior engineers and support business development through client relations and project interviews
- Lead project teams and serve as the primary contact for clients
- Aid in the procurement of new work; including the development of client relations and participation in project interviews
Qualifications
- 8+ years design of HVAC systems
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
Skills
- Knowledge in the design of HVAC systems
- Familiarity with codes, standards, and design guidelines
- Excellent work ethic and attitude
- Good communication skills, combined with organizational skills, the ability to plan, balance and prioritize work
- LEED certification / experience is a plus
- Ability to lead a team as well as work as part of a team
- Proficiency in Revit and BIM360, AutoCAD, and MS Office
- Ability to travel
