Senior Mechanical Engineer
About the role
The Senior Mechanical Engineer on Olsson's Facilities Engineering and Design Team provides high-level technical support and leads quality assurance/quality control activities. This role is critical in conceptualizing and creating unique solutions that deliver elevated, purposeful, and high-quality engineering designs to meet the diverse needs of our projects.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide high-level project design and review of project documents, ensuring design quality for complex projects across various sectors including commercial developments, healthcare facilities, and more.
- Serve as a technical specialist, applying advanced engineering concepts and developing innovative approaches to solve complex challenges.
- Perform rigorous QA/QC to ensure the delivery of designs that meet quality standards and project objectives.
- Conduct research and advise on technical solutions in areas of considerable scope and complexity.
- Direct and advise staff on design approaches to ensure project requirements are fulfilled.
- Promote efficiencies and high-quality output within the team, contributing to the development of standards and guidelines for engineering activities.
- Supervise and review the technical assignments of less experienced engineers, fostering an environment of learning and professional growth.
Qualifications
- You are passionate about working collaboratively with others, having ownership in the work you do, and using your talents to positively affect communities.
- You bring strong communication skills, ability to contribute and work well with a team, excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills, and a Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
- You must be a registered Professional Engineer with at least eight years of progressive engineering experience.
- You should have proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit, with a comprehensive understanding of International Building Codes.
