About the role

Mead & Hunt, an award-winning national architecture and engineering firm, has a full-time position available for a Senior Mechanical Engineer in our Denver, CO; Madison, WI; Milwaukee, WI; Dallas, TX; San Diego, CA; Sacramento, CA; or Tampa, FL office locations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and provide technical guidance to mechanical project teams.
  • Manage and attend client meetings, ensuring project objectives are met.
  • Oversee construction phase services with a focus on quality and efficiency.
  • Mentor junior staff, fostering a culture of professional growth and learning.
  • Contribute to business development efforts with innovative solutions.
  • Regular travel to military bases and airports as part of lead mechanical engineer role.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical or architectural engineering from an accredited college or university.
  • At least 8 years of relevant experience in mechanical engineering.
  • PE license in any state and have the ability to obtain in additional states as needed.

Preferred skills

  • Expertise in many mechanical system types, such as hot water, chilled water, condenser water systems, VAV, Geothermal, VRF systems, DDC control systems.
  • Experience in sustainable design, steam systems, commissioning services, and plumbing systems.
  • Proven track record as a project lead.
  • Experience in designing mechanical systems for Federal Government projects.
  • Commitment to sustainable design and innovation.
  • Experience or familiarity with generative AI-driven tools, platforms, or systems (e.g. Microsoft Copilot, Chat GPT, Claude, Gemini) to enhance productivity, automate tasks, and reduce errors.

Pay

Salary Range: $115,000 and above. Actual compensation may vary due to other factors such as: experience, skill set or location.
