Senior Mechanical Engineer

About the Role

A leading consulting engineering firm is seeking a Senior Mechanical Designer / Engineer to join its growing Atlanta team. This role offers the opportunity to lead the design and delivery of complex healthcare and mission-critical facilities, working closely with clients and multidisciplinary teams on high-impact projects throughout the Southeast.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead HVAC and mechanical systems design for complex healthcare facilities
• Develop engineering calculations, equipment selections, system layouts, specifications, and construction documents
• Perform quality reviews to ensure technical excellence and code compliance
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and healthcare clients throughout project delivery
• Support construction administration, including RFIs, submittal reviews, and field issue resolution
• Mentor junior engineers and designers while providing technical leadership

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• 10+ years of mechanical design/engineering experience within the AEC industry
• Extensive healthcare project experience, including hospitals and ambulatory care facilities
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, healthcare codes, and industry standards
• Proficiency with Revit, Bluebeam, and mechanical load calculation software
• PE license preferred
