- Designs, validates, and brings new products, systems, and component technologies to market, owning technical execution from concept through production release related to portable generators.
- Defines functional requirements and develops optimized engineering solutions by designing, testing, integrating, and evaluating moderately complex components and systems, including assessment of performance, cost/benefit, reliability (risk analysis), and safety.
- Plans, executes, and evaluates fitness-for-use testing and validation activities, including product specifications, process validation plans, material specifications, and bills of materials.
- Uses CAD and CAE tools and simulations to develop and analyze designs, produce detailed engineering drawings, and assess mechanical system performance and improvement opportunities.
- Partners cross-functionally with manufacturing, suppliers, designers, and product specialists to optimize designs for manufacturability and support new technology and product development plans related to schedule, cost, and design inputs.
- Ledds risk management activities, including development of Risk Assessments and FMEAs/DFMEAs, and provides data-driven recommendations during design reviews.
- Oversees prototype build, testing, troubleshooting, and validation, driving corrective actions necessary to meet functional, performance, and safety requirements.
- Investigates and resolves technical issues, independently driving root cause analysis and escalating high-risk or high-impact issues appropriately to engineering leadership.
