Senior Mechanical Engineer
Dematic is seeking multiple talented Senior Mechanical Engineers to join our Global Project Engineering team. The Mechanical Engineering team performs engineering assignments with clear and specified objectives while on multi-discipline project teams. The ideal candidate will be passionate about engineering projects through to completion, building relationships with customers, and undertaking opportunity in a growing industry and team.
About the role
In this role, you will complete the design of sophisticated systems that integrate hardware and software, specify materials, prepare layouts and drawings, and provide follow-up. You will also make recommendations for productivity improvements, cost reductions, and enhanced customer satisfaction. The position involves complex technical interchange, problem-solving, project engineering, and commissioning at customer sites. You will communicate and collaborate with customers for final system design and travel up to 25% to customer or Dematic locations.
Responsibilities
- Complete the design of sophisticated systems integrating hardware and software
- Specify materials, prepare layouts and drawings, and perform appropriate follow-up
- Recommend ideas for productivity improvement, cost reduction, and customer satisfaction
- Perform complex technical interchange and knowledge transfer for processes and product applications
- Identify and resolve complex problems using problem-solving skills
- Lead project engineering and commissioning at customer sites
- Communicate, train, and work with customers for final system design
- Travel up to 25% to customer or Dematic locations
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical Engineering preferred)
- 8+ years of successful experience in a related field, demonstrating key responsibilities and knowledge
- Advanced degree may be substituted for experience
- Proficient in 3D modeling software and AutoCAD
- Experience in the Material Handling/automation industry
- Experience in a project-based Mechanical Engineering role (design to installation)
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Ability to effectively delegate tasks
- Understanding of project schedule and budget for Mechanical Engineering functions
- Able to lead multiple small or mid-sized projects
- Authorized to work for any employer in the United States (no visa sponsorship available)
Pay
The base pay range for this role is estimated to be $102,750 - $150,700 at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined by factors such as work location, education, experience, knowledge, and skills.
