Senior Mechanical Engineer
Responsibilities
- Complete projects from concept and design through transition to production.
- Take ownership of mechanical aspects of assigned projects.
- Design mechanical aspects of products.
- Help transition products from prototype to production, including developing production processes and test methods.
- Cook up with manufacturers to refine manufacturing processes and ensure products are produced within specification.
- Diagnose product failures and implement corrective actions.

- Proficiency in SolidWorks and mechanical design
- Experience in managing the life cycle of product development
- Project management skills
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Mechanical design experience
- Product development experience (low to medium product volume production)
- Proficiency in 3D modeling (SolidWorks preferred) or similar software
- 5-7 years of relevant engineering experience
- Robust knowledge of manufacturing techniques including injection molding, extruding, 3D printing, machining, casting, and laser cutting
- In-depth materials knowledge including engineered plastics
- Experience with FEA and CFD, heat transfer, and thermodynamics
- Experience with sealants and adhesives
- Strong computer skills including hardware, software, and design packages
- Comfortable working in a lab environment with minimal supervision
- Familiarity with mechanical assembly and use of hand and power tools
- Experience with thermal transfer and modeling
- LED lighting experience
- Able to hold design reviews and provide technical guidance and recommendations to team members

Job Type & Location
This is a Permanent position based out of Belmont, NC.
Pay And Benefits
The pay range for this position is $100,000.00 - $120,000.00/yr.
