Job Summary

This position offers a hybrid work schedule combining both office and remote work. You will work under the direction of the Mechanical Project Lead, collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering and design project teams to develop mechanical physical layout drawings in a 3D model. You will handle challenging assignments involving mechanical system design, troubleshooting, and problem-solving. Additionally, you will utilize 3D modeling software tools to generate mechanical design schematics, act as the Mechanical Design Team Lead, coordinate detailed design phases, and provide guidance to less experienced drafters and designers.

Responsibilities

  • Develop mechanical general arrangements, piping systems, and supports
  • Coordinate and develop associated deliverables for mechanical equipment
  • Interface with engineering and design teams across various disciplines
  • Conduct field walkdowns and gather data at client facilities
  • Provide mentorship to less experienced drafters and designers

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in drafting or equivalent technical experience
  • At least ten years of detailed physical design experience in mechanical general arrangements, piping systems, and supports
  • Proficiency with design software tools for 3D plant layout models
  • Experience reviewing mechanical equipment, including outlines and interface points

  • Ability to work independently and manage design deliverables
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
