Senior Mechanical Design Engineer - Data Center Facilities

Responsibilities

• Able to communicate directly with clients.
• Plan, conceptualize, and create HVAC mechanical designs for new and retrofit buildings/projects in the mission critical environment.
• Duct design/piping design experience.
• Central plant cooling design.
• Perform typical HVAC engineering calculations to support design work.
• Create technical drawings, plans, and specifications (using computer software).
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams, and work with vendors and contractors.
• Able to travel to project sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
• EIT/PE a plus
• 10+ years (min) of experience working for a design engineering firm including some Mission Critical (data center) design experience
• Firm grasp of engineering concepts including theoretical and practical applications for HVAC Systems
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office programs
• Knowledge and familiarity in use of mechanical engineering software such as but not limited to heat loss/gain calcs, pipe-flo, CFD modeling, etc.
• Able to communicate effectively and clearly to jr staff for project development
• Must be self-motivated and know project design steps/requirements

Pay

The U.S. pay range for this position is $106,000 - $133,000 annually and does not include bonuses, overtime or other forms of compensation or benefits. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
