About the role
The Mechanical Products Team (MPT), Shipboard Effectors Department, is seeking Mechanical Engineers for our Louisville KY site in both development and production support across multiple programs.
Responsibilities
- Mechanical design, geometric dimensioning and tolerance, and engineering testing
- Preparation of technical analysis reports and presentations in design reviews
- Strong collaboration and communication skills in working with the Chief Engineer and team leaders
- Balancing program needs with available program resources
- Developing technical solutions to a wide range of complex problems related to the entire product life cycle including design, manufacture, integration and test
- Meet cost, schedule, quality, and performance requirements for the finished product
- Coincide with other disciplines in the development of design verification test plans and qualification test plans
- Coincide with operations (production) staff in the development of producible designs
- Occasional travel to suppliers may be required to resolve production issues, technical performance issues or attend critical program engineering reviews
- Mentorship is expected
Requirements
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
- Experience with CAD solid modeling tools and analysis tools
- Experience with Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance (GD&T)
- The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance prior to the start date.
- U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Skills
- Leadership experience with small teams (4-6 people)
- Supplier interaction and supplier management experience
- Ability to collaborate in teams or independently
- Knowledge of mechanical sub-systems packaging, materials, thermal, structural analysis, energetics principals, control systems, interconnect, airframe, or large assembly development
Pay
The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD.
