Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Key Accountabilities
- Develop and maintain mechanical designs, including SolidWorks models, drawings, and related documentation
- Ensure designs meet performance, quality, safety, and manufacturability standards prior to release to production
- Apply and follow established CAD standards, part libraries, revision control practices, and documentation requirements
- Collaborate with Production, Quality, and Supply Chain to ensure designs are practical, cost-effective, and aligned with manufacturing capabilities
- Support Project Managers by providing design input, technical feedback, and timeline estimates throughout the project lifecycle
- Participate in design reviews and incorporate feedback to improve design quality and consistency
- Work with internal sales teams or customers, when needed, to clarify requirements and design intent
- Identify and resolve design issues, including tolerance, fit, and manufacturability concerns
- Contribute to the improvement of design workflows, checklists, and design-for-manufacturability standards
- Drive continuous improvement by suggesting enhancements to design processes, tools, and documentation practices
- Explore and apply new SolidWorks features, tools, or design methods to improve efficiency and quality
- Support new and existing product development efforts with innovative mechanical design solutions
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related engineering field, or equivalent hands-on experience
- Strong proficiency in SolidWorks and mechanical design best practices
- Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, design-for-manufacturability, and revision control
- Experience working cross-functionally with production, quality, supply chain, and project teams
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy, consistency, and standardization
- Able to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Clear communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Self-motivated, solutions-oriented mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
