About the role
Concordia Wireless is a telecommunications services company supporting major wireless carriers. The company's fleet and field equipment are critical to daily operations, and they are seeking a Senior Mechanic / Fleet Mechanic to ensure these assets operate safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair diesel trucks, gas trucks, box trucks, medium-duty trucks, pickup trucks, vans, and service vehicles.
- Inspect, maintain, and repair utility trailers, enclosed cargo trailers, flatbeds, equipment trailers, and small trailers.
- Repair and replace trailer components including brakes, lights, wiring, axles, suspension, couplers, jacks, ramps, decking, wheel bearings, tires, and other DOT safety items.
- Perform advanced diagnostics and electrical repairs using OEM diagnostic scanners for manufacturers such as Stellantis, Mercedes-Benz, and others.
- Replace engines, transmissions, and other major drivetrain components.
- Perform preventive maintenance including oil changes, filters, fluids, brakes, tires, batteries, belts, hoses, lighting, suspension, steering, and drivetrain service.
- Troubleshoot and repair engine, charging, starting, hydraulic, brake, steering, suspension, fuel, and cooling system issues.
- Maintain and repair forklifts, generators, compressors, pumps, and small construction or field-support equipment as needed.
- Respond to urgent repair needs and occasional field breakdowns to minimize downtime.
- Complete repair orders, inspection forms, service documentation, and parts tracking accurately.
- Help mentor junior mechanics and shop helpers on proper diagnostics, repairs, and safety procedures.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Willingness to travel up to 150 miles one way to help service vehicles or equipment that have broken down.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of mechanic experience required; 15–20+ years preferred.
- Strong experience working on diesel trucks, gas vehicles, trailers, and fleet equipment.
- Ability to independently diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues.
- Experience with medium-duty trucks, box trucks, pickups, vans, trailers, and service vehicles.
- Strong understanding of brakes, electrical systems, hydraulics, suspension, steering, drivetrains, cooling systems, and DOT safety requirements.
- Experience performing advanced electrical diagnostics using OEM scanners and diagnostic software.
- Valid driver’s license required. CDL license, ASE certifications, welding/fabrication experience, hydraulic repair experience, and forklift repair experience are a plus.
- Must provide basic mechanic tools.
