About the role
We are seeking a Senior Marketing Specialist to support marketing and business development initiatives for a specialized business group within a professional services organization. This individual will serve as a key marketing resource, partnering with attorneys, business development professionals, communications teams, and other internal stakeholders to execute client-facing marketing programs and strategic initiatives. The ideal candidate is an organized, polished marketing professional who can manage multiple priorities, produce high-quality materials, coordinate events, and provide responsive support in a deadline-driven environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop, update, and maintain marketing materials, including practice descriptions, brochures, presentations, client communications, advertisements, newsletters, and other digital and print collateral.
- Assist with the development of customized materials for prospective and existing clients, including proposals, pitches, RFP responses, and statements of qualifications.
- Partner with marketing leadership and internal stakeholders to coordinate business development initiatives and practice-focused projects.
- Conduct and coordinate research requests to support marketing campaigns, client development efforts, and new business opportunities.
- Provide marketing assistance to strategic client programs and industry-focused initiatives.
- Support the development and execution of longer-term marketing and business development plans.
- Ensure all materials are accurate, professionally presented, and consistent with established brand standards.
- Coordinate the planning and execution of office, industry, practice, and client-facing events, including networking functions, conferences, panels, roundtables, and virtual programs.
- Manage event logistics such as budgets, venues, catering, invitations, attendee lists, registration, technology, and on-site coordination.
- Assist with continuing education requirements and other programming needs associated with professional events.
- Coordinate pre- and post-event communications and follow-up activities.
- Support virtual meetings and webinars by coordinating technology and monitoring event requirements.
- Assist with submissions for professional rankings, industry awards, attorney recognitions, and business directories.
- Gather relevant attorney experience, matter information, and supporting materials required for submissions.
- Research and evaluate professional organizations, industry associations, sponsorships, and membership opportunities.
- Coordinate sponsorship-related activities, including approvals, payments, advertising materials, conference participation, speaking opportunities, and client/prospect engagement.
- Conduct research using attendee and membership information to identify potential business development opportunities.
- Assist with the onboarding and integration of lateral attorneys by coordinating biographies, photographs, website updates, internal announcements, and related communications.
- Partner with communications personnel on press releases, intranet announcements, and other attorney-related communications.
- Support business development planning and contact integration associated with new attorney arrivals.
- Provide timely and professional support to attorneys, administrative personnel, vendors, and other internal stakeholders.
- Work collaboratively with broader marketing and business development teams on department-wide initiatives and special projects.
- Respond promptly and professionally to requests from attorneys, clients, staff, and external vendors.
- Maintain a high level of attention to detail and follow-through from project initiation through completion.
- Build productive working relationships across multiple departments and levels of the organization.
- Balance competing priorities while maintaining service quality and meeting established deadlines.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related discipline.
- At least two years of relevant marketing, business development, or professional services experience.
- Experience working within a law firm or other professional services environment is strongly preferred.
- Strong editing and proofreading abilities with a high degree of attention to detail.
- Exceptional organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.
- Willingness to occasionally travel to other offices and attend meetings, conferences, and events as needed.
- Flexibility to work outside of standard business hours periodically when projects, events, or deadlines require it.
- Experience with CRM, email marketing, project management, document management, or other marketing technology platforms is a plus.
- Familiarity with AP Style and professional business writing conventions.
