What You Will Do

  • Stakeholder Partnership & Research Scoping
  • Partner with marketing, publishing, and other internal stakeholders to identify research needs, translating business questions into well-formed research questions.
  • Advis[e] stakeholders on what market research can and cannot answer, helping them get the most useful evidence for their decisions.
  • Build trusted working relationships across teams, including with stakeholders who aren't researchers themselves.
  • Study Design & Methodology
  • Design market research studies across the full range of methods, including segmentation, conjoint, max-diff, brand tracking, concept testing, customer profiling, and pricing research.
  • Develop sampling strategies and survey instruments that produce trustworthy, representative data.
  • Develop the methodological standards and documentation that support reliable, repeatable market research at Level.
  • Fielding & Operations
  • Manage survey fielding, including platform setup, recruitment, sampling execution, and data collection quality.
  • Work with external panel providers and recruitment vendors when representative samples require it.
  • Maintain quality assurance practices for survey data, including attention checks, response validation, and weighting.
  • Analysis & Insight Generation
  • Conduct rigorous quantitative analysis using R, Python, or equivalent tools.
  • Produce both technical methodological documentation and clear business-facing takeaways.
  • Translate complex quantitative findings into narratives and recommendations that non-research audiences can act on.
  • Cross-Team Collaboration
  • Coordinate with the broader research team to integrate market research findings with UX, lab, and field research.
  • Partner with the research team on analytical support and to shape the market research roadmap.

Qualifications

  • Need to Have:
  • 5+ years of experience in market research, with a demonstrated track record of owning studies end-to-end.
  • A strong methodological foundation across the range of market research methods, including sampling design, segmentation, and at least one of conjoint, max-diff, or brand tracking.
  • Proficiency in R, Python, or equivalent tooling for survey analysis and quantitative work.
  • Demonstrated experience working directly with non-research stakeholders, including marketing, brand, or business teams, to elicit their needs, translate them into studies, and deliver actionable findings.
  • A strong written and verbal communication, with the ability to write for multiple audiences, including technical documentation for research peers, business takeaways for marketing, and persuasive narratives for publishing.
  • A self-sufficient end-to-end approach: able to scope, design, field, analyze, and report on studies without dependency on other team members for routine work.
  • Nice to Have:
  • Experience in EdTech, education, or consumer research with parents and families.
  • Familiarity with supplemental learning or K–5 education markets.
  • Experience adapting validated scales or academic instruments for applied research contexts.
  • Experience working with external panel providers (e.g., Prolific, Qualtrics panels, dedicated market research vendors).
  • A background in psychology, sociology, statistics, marketing science, or a related quantitative field.
  • A graduate training in survey methodology, statistics, marketing research, or quantitative social science.
