Description
Wilsonart is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Systems Analyst in the Greater Austin area to drive design and governance of manufacturing cost and intercompany processes across their ERP platforms.
Role Summary
The Senior Manufacturing Systems Analyst owns the end-to-end design and roadmap for cost and inventory accounting capabilities, ensuring consistency across plants and business units. They partner with Plant Finance, Corporate Control, Operations, and IT to standardize processes, improve cost transparency, and support strategic decisions on pricing, sourcing, and network design.
Key Responsibilities
Making Manufacturing Cost Accounting Leadership: Act as functional lead for manufacturing cost and inventory accounting processes in Oracle EBS and/or Oracle Cloud, setting standards and guiding solution decisions.
Defining and Governing Standard Costing Frameworks: Lead design of WIP accounting, job costing, and variance models to support meaningful analysis by product, line, plant, and business unit.
Driving Continuous Improvement Initiatives: Provide functional leadership for projects, enhancements, and rollouts impacting manufacturing cost and inventory, including planning, impact assessment, and testing strategy.
Supporting Month-End and Year-End Close: Support month-end and year-end close for manufacturing cost and inventory at a governance level, ensuring consistency of reconciliations, cost rolls, and variance explanations across sites.
Own Intercompany Manufacturing & Trading Flows: Own intercompany manufacturing and trading design, including intercompany price/markup structures, cost flow and COGS recognition, intercompany inventory flows, and settlement/reconciliation processes.
Partnering with Finance Leadership: Align system design with transfer pricing policies and global inventory strategies.
Supporting Multi-Currency Intercompany Transactions: Design and maintain intercompany reconciliation frameworks to ensure timely resolution of discrepancies between trading partners.
Leading Cross-Functional Solution Design: Lead cross-functional workshops to capture business requirements, challenge legacy practices, and design future-state processes for costing and manufacturing.
Translating Strategic Business Objectives: Translate strategic business objectives into detailed functional designs and Oracle configurations, following Oracle best practices for manufacturing and cost accounting.
Collaborating with Technical Teams: Collaborate with technical teams on solution architecture, integrations, and data strategies related to production, inventory, and cost.
Aligning Cost Accounting System Design: Align cost accounting system design with make-vs-buy decisions, outsourcing strategies, and contract manufacturing scenarios.
Managing Knowledge Management & Team Development: Mentor and guide other analysts and key users on best practices for cost accounting in Oracle.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Industrial Engineering, or related field; advanced degree or certification (CPA, CMA) preferred.
6-8 years of ERP-based financial systems experience, with at least 5+ years focused primarily on manufacturing cost accounting and inventory in a multi-plant environment.
Deep knowledge of manufacturing cost accounting, including global standard costing models, overhead allocation, WIP/job costing, inventory valuation, and intercompany cost flows.
Extensive, hands-on experience with Oracle Cost Management, Inventory, and WIP/Manufacturing in Oracle EBS (R12) and/or Oracle Cloud, including design of SLA rules for cost and intercompany.
Proven experience designing and supporting intercompany manufacturing and trading flows, multi-entity/multi-currency environments, and complex reconciliations between subledger and GL.
Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives, influence stakeholders, and standardize processes across sites or business units.
Strong understanding of manufacturing cost accounting principles including: Standard costing, actual costing, and weighted average costing methodologies; Cost rollup and cost update processes across multi-level BOMs; Material, labor, overhead, and outside processing cost elements; Manufacturing variance analysis (material, labor, overhead, yield); and absorption costing and period-end close procedures for manufacturing.
Expertise in Oracle Costing (CMC), Inventory (INV), Work in Process (WIP), Bills of Material (BOM), and integration with General Ledger and Subledger Accounting (SLA).
Experience with intercompany accounting frameworks including automated intercompany invoicing, settlements, eliminations, and transfer pricing methodologies.
Knowledge of manufacturing execution systems (MES) and shop floor data collection integration with Oracle Financials.
Strong analytical skills with track record of using cost and variance analysis to drive operational and financial improvements.
