About the role
Pratt & Whitney is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL) Lead to guide the Engineering Support to Operations (ESTO) organization across both commercial and military programs.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain structured MRL progression plans for assigned hardware, ensuring clear milestones, defined deliverables, and measurable readiness targets.
- Execute MRL milestones on schedule by coordinating risk identification, mitigation planning, and timely escalation across CIPT (Component Integrated Product Team), Manufacturing Engineering, Procurement, and Supplier Development teams.
- Drive zero-defect performance by applying MRL processes and tools, validating supplier process capability (PFD (Process Flow Diagram), PFMEA (Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis), PCP (Process Control Plan), tool/gage plans), and ensuring readiness documentation is obtained on time.
- Support qualification, Process Certification, FAI (First Article Inspection), and monthly reviews through accurate reporting, proactive issue resolution, and clear communication to stakeholders at all levels.
- Partner with Module Center CIPT leadership, Program Management, and Global Supply Chain to manage budgets, close MRL gaps, meet delivery goals, and lead cost-of-poor-quality and inventory-reduction initiatives.
- Collaborate with suppliers and internal partners to resolve MRL issues promptly, guide supporting functions, ensure ESTO MRL metric achievement, and maintain organizational alignment on readiness priorities.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM), and 5 years of technical engineering experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and 3 years of relevant technical engineering experience.
- Demonstrated experience successfully leading an IPT (Integrated Product Team) or similar cross-functional team, driving clear deliverables, strategic alignment, and measurable program outcomes.
- Proven proficiency in manufacturing processes, applying technical knowledge to optimize production readiness and improve process quality.
- Relevant aerospace or jet-engine industry experience, enabling effective decision-making and readiness planning within complex engineering environments.
- Strong team leadership skills, consistently setting direction, motivating teams, and guiding strategic priorities to achieve organizational goals.
- Highly motivated self-starter who takes initiative, meets deadlines, and proactively identifies and resolves issues.
- Demonstrated customer-focused approach, using analytical skills and clear communication to build strong relationships and deliver responsive support across organizations.
