About the role

Pratt & Whitney, Compression Systems Manufacturing Center (CSMC) in Middletown, Connecticut is seeking a Process Manufacturing Engineer.

Responsibilities

  • With specific process ownership, the Senior Manufacturing Engineer will provide direct troubleshooting support to the manufacturing shop floor and drive improvement across those specific manufacturing processes.
  • Identify & implement process optimization & process control methods to eliminate quality turn backs/escapes and reduce overall product costs through the specific process.
  • Interact with product designers, tool designers, quality assurance, systems designers, and other stakeholders is required to improve first pass yield through manufacturing processes.
  • Perform Root cause analysis and corrective actions on non-conforming products for responsible processes using statistical analysis tools and other methods as necessary.
  • Drive targeted manufacturing process optimization activities using MRL tools such as Process Control Plans and PFMEA.
  • The discipline and follow-through to fully document problem statements, observations, conclusions, calculations and recommendations.
  • Schedule and facilitate periodic project reviews and ensure validation.
  • Use effective scorecards and metrics to ensure progress.
  • Lead projects critical to improve manufacturing process capability & quality performance through the assigned processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering and 5 or more years of experience in an engineering, manufacturing operations, quality, shop floor or similar environment OR a Master's degree and 3 or more years of experience in an engineering, manufacturing, quality, shop floor or similar environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products.
  • Experience managing multiple projects with competing priorities in a constantly fluctuating work environment.
  • Experience reading and interpreting complex blueprints.
  • Experience in a Manufacturing Shop Environment.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Six Sigma project leadership/management/coaching experience.
  • Previous experience with PW software tools like Solumina, and SAP.
  • Experience in using UG/NX, and Team Center software suites.
  • Experience in using Minitab and other statistical software for analysis.
  • Experience with working on Rotating Gas Turbine Parts.
  • Experience in Conventional Manufacturing processes.

Pay

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD.

This position is classified as: Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.
