Senior Managing Director, Advancement

We aim to raise investments that fuel our work and impact with a revenue growth trajectory to raise $300 million annually.
Responsibilities
- Lead a High-Performing Team: Coach and manage a team of specialists responsible for the planning and execution of events, donor communications, campaigns, and fundraising operations within the cohort; ensure strong collaboration with local fundraising teams and foster a culture of philanthropy that shows up in every interaction, decision, and partnership
- Design and Execute a Comprehensive Donor Relations Strategy: Set vision and direction for a best-in-class donor relations strategy across campaigns, events, content, and communications; own the development of a compelling core case for support and establish a donor messaging architecture that is consistent across giving levels, audiences, and markets to drive long-term stewardship and revenue growth
- Partner to Set Revenue Strategy: Partner with VPFFs, Executive Directors, and local fundraising teams to translate regional priorities, strategies, and goals into a cohort-wide development strategy designed to grow revenue year over year
- Manage Flawless Development Operations: Set operational standards and build the systems that may include invoicing, CRM discipline, data management, and content organization give local fundraising teams the capacity to stay focused on donors and execute with excellence
- Model Enterprise Leadership: Act as organizational steward, contributing to corps member and Ignite Fellow selection and other enterprise-wide priorities
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in a complex development and fundraising context
- Deep expertise in donor cultivation, stewardship, and pipeline-building across individual, corporate, and foundation streams
- Proven track record of meeting and exceeding ambitious revenue goals
- Skilled at setting vision and leading execution of complex, high-stakes fundraising events including galas and benefit dinners
- Adept at producing compelling donor communications and campaigns across multiple audience segments; exceptional writer, communicator, and storyteller with a donor-centered mindset
- Demonstrated success managing a diverse team across multiple functions with a clear approach to developing talent and maintaining high standards
- Demonstrated ability to influence and drive alignment across geographically dispersed teams
- Comfort using CRM data to monitor progress, identify gaps, and adjust strategy
- Ability to work in close partnership with senior leaders to translate strategy into operational priorities

Pay
The applicable salary range for each U.S.-based role is based on where the employee works and is aligned to one of 3 tiers according to a cost of labor index in that geographic area. Starting pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. New hires are typically brought into the organization at a salary between the range minimum and the salary range midpoint depending on qualifications, internal equity, and the budgeted amount for the role. The expected salary ranges for this role are set forth below. These ranges may be modified in the future.
- Tier A: $99,000 - $135,100
- Tier B: $107,900 - $147,200
- Tier C: $116,800 - $159,500

The Senior Managing Director, Advancement role is remote and reports to the Vice President, Field Fundraising. The position is open to candidates located in the United States.
