Shape the strategy for Ryder's portfolio of multi-channel digital products, including websites, mobile apps, and IoT experiences. Establish a design language system and best practices for product teams, providing unified governance and evangelizing design thinking.
Responsibilities
- Ensure a consistent, unified user experience across all platforms, basing decisions on industry-standard methodologies, user research, visual patterns, and style guides.
- Perform competitive analysis, user research, behavioral specifications, and personas creation for new and existing products and services.
- Empathize and advocate for the user throughout every step, developing user journeys, test plans, information architecture, page flows, product roadmaps, wireframes, and designing and facilitating workshops.
- Identify ways to optimize customers' end-to-end experiences with products, leveraging data, insights, and research to understand communication methods.
- Identify design problems and devise elegant solutions using a user-centered approach by rapidly testing and iterating designs.
- Define how Ryder performs qualitative and quantitative research and mentor others on building capabilities across methodologies.
- Develop and lead internal user research and validation capability, including testing processes, partnerships, and infusing a culture of testing and learning.
- Optimize the design team's framework and cross-functional workflows to support development teams effectively.
- Promote and gain support for design thinking, product strategies, and developments by presenting data-driven design to stakeholders.
- Coach, manage, mentor, and promote the work of multi-discipline User Experience team members and advance the craft of the team.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Experience designing large-scale, high-profile customer experiences for a variety of personas.
- Experience building and maintaining a robust design system to support several product development teams.
- Experience with user research, quantitative and qualitative testing techniques, and translating findings into strategic business recommendations.
- Strong portfolio showcasing aesthetic design and a range of interactive samples on web and mobile.
- Proficiency in standard UX software such as Figma, Sketch, InVision, XD, or other design, wire-framing, and prototyping tools (advanced required).
- Understanding of basic front-end languages and frameworks including web component libraries, JavaScript, PWAs, and other modern development frameworks (advanced required).
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Advanced education in Interaction/UX Design or HCI.
- Eight (8) or more years of experience in product research and user experience (UX) design.
- Five (5) or more years designing for web, mobile, and different types of applications.
Travel: 10-20%
Pay
Pay Type: Salaried
Minimum Pay Range: $100,000.00
Maximum Pay Range: $130,000.00
The position may also be eligible to receive an annual bonus, commission, and/or long-term incentive plan based on the level and/or type.
