Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopedics business to establish a standalone orthopedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months. Should you accept this position, it is anticipated that, following conclusion of the transaction, you would be an employee of DePuy Synthes and your employment would be governed by DePuy Synthes employment processes, programs, policies, and benefit plans.

About the role

This onsite position is located in Palm Beach Gardens, FL, and requires a 5-day per week presence. The role involves 10% domestic travel with a possibility of international travel.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the organization of all Service and Repair work for DePuy Synthes Capital performed on the Service site.
  • Functional Management of the Service Center, including monitoring, support, and performance improvements.
  • Develop and track monthly performance, quality, and financial metrics for the Service center.
  • Ensure Service is represented during the NPI processes and the Service center is ready at launch to support business needs.
  • Effectively manage inventory levels, optimizing costs, replacement periods, quality, and security in procurement, and guide yearly inventory counts according to SOX procedures.
  • Operational management of personnel, setting performance standards, providing feedback, promoting positive morale, and supporting employee involvement programs.
  • Partner closely with local finance, Service center Team Leader, Quality Manager, Customer Service Manager, and other internal stakeholders to align processes for quality, finance, operations, and training.
  • Plan, organize, and control work schedules to meet service schedules and department metrics.
  • Process service activities within the S&R platform software to capture results and activities performed.
  • Ensure department compliance with all Quality, EHS, and company policies and procedures, including training requirements.
  • Support the maintenance of operating supply inventory for each department.
  • Assist in preparing, monitoring, and controlling the department budget.
  • Complete 5 performance and development conversations annually.
  • Interview and select personnel to meet staffing requirements.
  • Maintain the highest levels of professionalism, ethics, and compliance with all laws and policies.
  • Participate in compliance program-related activities as required.
  • Communicate business-related issues or opportunities to the next management level.
  • Ensure subordinates follow all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety, and Environmental practices.
  • Ensure personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, local, and Company regulations, policies, and procedures.

Requirements

  • B.A. or B.S in a technical discipline or business is required.
  • Eight to ten+ years of hands-on experience in technical Operations management.
  • Five to ten+ years of direct people management and leadership experience.
  • Strategic planning and portfolio management experience.
  • Experience working in a regulated environment (highly preferred).
  • Five+ years performing cross-functional or multi-discipline assignments.
  • Experience implementing change initiatives.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office: Excel, PowerPoint, Word.
  • Problem analysis and resolution skills.
  • Strong technical and project leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated initiative, creativity, and assertiveness.
  • Ability to use influence and motivational techniques to lead process improvements with multi-functional teams.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for professional interactions with all organizational levels, vendors, and customers.
  • Conflict management skills.
  • Strong coaching, mentoring, and people development skills.
  • Ability to work independently with occasional guidance.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to make effective management-level presentations and write formal reports on departmental metrics.
  • English fluency required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in customer service, logistics, or distribution.
  • Electro-Mechanical device experience (highly preferred).
  • Knowledge of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) / ISO (International Organization for Standardization).
  • Knowledge of EHS (Environmental Health and Safety) regulations.
  • Sales force experience.
  • SAP experience.
  • Practical experience with strategic planning, business planning, and yearly budgets.
  • Understanding of information technology to utilize new technologies for business objectives.
