Senior Manager, Trust and Safety Analysis, Google Play
About the role
Trust & Safety team members are tasked with identifying and taking on the biggest problems that challenge the safety and integrity of our products. They use technical know-how, excellent problem-solving skills, user insights, and proactive communication to protect users and our partners from abuse across Google products like Search, Maps, Gmail, and Google Ads. On this team, you're a big-picture thinker and strategic team-player with a passion for doing what’s right. You work globally and cross-functionally with Google engineers and product managers to identify and fight abuse and fraud cases at Google speed - with urgency. Responsibilities
- Lead the evolution of the analytics function by shifting the team's focus from fulfilling ad-hoc requests (reactive) to anticipating business needs, identifying trends, and uncovering new growth opportunities (proactive).
- Act as an advisor to Play and Compute leadership. Manage, facilitate, and drive high-level business discussions, utilizing data to influence strategy, align cross-functional objectives, and achieve consensus.
- Advocate a culture of data-based decision-making.
- Mentor and guide a high-performing analytics team, fostering an environment focused on business impact, technical excellence, and continuous improvement.
- Develop and implement proactive operational models, leveraging advanced analytics to optimize performance, mitigate risks, and drive sustainable growth within the Play and Compute ecosystems.
Qualifications
- Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience; 13 years of experience in data analytics, program management, anti-abuse, policy, or related fields; 2 years of experience in people management, leading teams.
- Preferred qualifications: Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; experience in SQL, building dashboards, data collection/transformation, visualization/dashboards, or in a scripting/programming language (e.g., Python); experience working with engineering and product teams to create tools, solutions, or automation to improve user safety; excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence cross-functionally at various levels.
Pay
US: $219,000 - $306,000 (USD) + 25% bonus target + equity + benefits
