About the Role
As a Sr Manager of Trade Compliance at Insitu, a subsidiary of Boeing, you will perform management oversight of the staff responsible for the development, implementation, and execution of Insitu’s import/export compliance program. Insitu pioneers the design, manufacturing, and operation of high-performance Uncrewed Aircraft Systems (UAS) with superior payload capabilities, delivering the highest quality products from our world-class manufacturing facilities in Bingen, WA.
Responsibilities
- Manages staff responsible for the implementation and execution of the company import/export compliance program.
- Establishes, maintains, and improves compliance program guidance, processes/procedures, internal controls, systems, and monitoring activities.
- Manages day-to-day trade compliance operations, including preparation, submission, and review of export/import licenses, permits, and agreements (e.g., Technical Assistance Agreements, Manufacturing License Agreements); commodity jurisdiction and classification determinations; administration of export and import transactions; and technology release plans.
- Monitors compliance to ensure compliance matters are identified and appropriately resolved; defines and implements annual assessment plans.
- Collaborates across the enterprise to execute departmental and cross-functional strategies, goals, and objectives.
- Establishes and commits to courses of action to accomplish long-range goals or visions after analyzing relevant information and assumptions; considers resources, constraints, and organizational values.
- Provides approval of workgroup technical approaches, products, and processes.
- Responsible for recruitment, development, performance management, and retention of staff.
- Establishes cross-functional partnerships and maintains strong and effective stakeholder working relationships to achieve business goals.
- Interacts frequently with internal personnel and outside representatives at various levels.
- Participates and presents at meetings with internal and external representatives.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience leading medium to large, and moderately complex, organizations.
- Knowledge of relevant state, federal, and/or international compliance laws and regulations (e.g., non-U.S. import/export laws and regulations, International Traffic in Arms Regulations [ITAR], Export Administration Regulations [EAR], Foreign Trade Regulations [FTR], Office of Foreign Assets Control [OFAC] requirements).
- Ability to identify and understand risks, issues, problems, and opportunities; compare data from different sources to draw conclusions; use effective approaches for choosing a course of action or developing appropriate solutions; take action consistent with available facts, constraints, and probable consequences.
- Ability to anticipate export and import licensing requirements to build strategies that ensure financial objectives can be met.
- Knowledge of relevant government agencies and processes, as well as current issues (e.g., governmental, international, industrial) impacting functional responsibilities.
- Experience allocating decision-making authority and/or task responsibility to maximize organizational and individual effectiveness.
- Knowledge of the industry environment, including customers and their business models, competitors, general market forces, global economy, market trends, regulatory environments, and political forces/realities.
- Ability to understand the big picture and inter-relationships of all positions and activities in the organization, including the impact of changes in one area on another.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience managing a trade compliance team is a strong plus.
Schedule
This role requires in-person collaboration 3 times per week and must be within commutable distance from Bingen, WA.
Pay
Typical hiring range: $120,500.00 - $165,715.00. Salaries are based on candidate experience, qualifications, and work location.
