Senior Manager, Technical Services Engineering
About the role
The role is for a transformational leader to join the MongoDB Technical Services team, leading regional teams of MongoDB 'core' and 'cloud' Support Engineers. The team addresses performance issues, advises on design and architecture, collaborates globally, and works on specific accounts.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and resolve performance related issues
- Advise on design and architecture including global distribution and replication of data
- Advise on upcoming roadmap features and advocate for the customer
- Collaborate with peer teams for seamless regional handovers
- Continuously learn and grow skills via training and sharing expertise
- Work on specific accounts to build rapport and understand customer environments
- Build rapport and in-depth understanding of customer architecture and environment(s)
- Encourage expansion of use of MongoDB products
Requirements
- 8+ years managing technical support or customer-facing engineering teams
- Demonstrated success scaling operations, implementing process improvements, and elevating team performance
- History of coaching technical talent from individual contributors to senior engineers
- Hands-on experience diagnosing complex production issues
- Project leadership experience in cross-functional technical initiatives
- Understanding of how modern AI systems interact with data platforms
- Experience building and refining KPIs, implementing tooling improvements, and using data to drive team decisions
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to lead by example during critical escalations
- Ability to calibrate communication for diverse audiences
Qualifications
- Deep technical foundation across multiple database technologies
- Experience with AI/ML technologies
- Experience with modern observability, analytics, and automation tools
- Experience developing analytical dashboards using tools like Tableau
- Experience with process innovation that improves efficiency metrics

Pay
MongoDB’s base salary range for this role is $140,000—$275,000 USD.
Schedule
The role requires working in the Austin office 3 or more days a week.
