About the Role
The Trade Desk is seeking a senior individual contributor to operate as a technical program manager within our Recruiting Operations team. This role focuses on owning strategic projects and programs end-to-end, with a hands-on approach to the systems these programs depend on. You’ll work within the Projects & Programs pillar, combining Recruiting PMO and Enablement functions to deliver CHANGE initiatives that scale globally.
Responsibilities
- Recruiting PMO — Cross-Functional Delivery & Rigor:
- Own strategic programs end to end, leading high-visibility, cross-functional TA Ops programs from scoping through launch, adoption, and measurement.
- Build and maintain project plans, milestones, dependency maps, RAID logs, and operating rhythms to keep stakeholders aligned and accountable.
- Coordinate work across Recruiting, People, Legal, Procurement, Finance, Business Engineering, and TA Ops pillars, escalating risks early with clear recommendations.
- Intake, Prioritization & Roadmap Formation:
- Design and improve the intake experience, including routing, request quality, acknowledgement, ownership assignment, deflection, and status visibility.
- Support the alignment forum, score requests on value versus effort, and make tradeoffs clear when sequencing, deferring, or declining work.
- Turn demand into roadmap themes using intake patterns, escalations, and recurring pain points, with success measures attached.
- Enablement — Process, Knowledge, Adoption & Change:
- Design processes, map current states, identify friction, and land changes in a way teams can adopt.
- Create SOPs, runbooks, communications, and launch materials to ensure changes stick beyond launch week.
- Develop training, self-serve content, and feedback loops to reduce tickets, improve adoption, and shorten time to resolution.
- Hands-On Systems Configuration:
- Configure and test requisition templates, interview plans, scorecards, approvals, offer workflows, custom fields, automations, and notifications in the ATS (Greenhouse preferred).
- Lead system implementations and migrations, including requirements, data mapping, configuration, testing, cutover, and post-go-live hypercare.
- Configure and administer tools like Smartsheet, Jira, Confluence, and SharePoint within governance and compliance guardrails.
- Measurement & Stakeholder Engagement:
- Define success measures for speed, quality, adoption, satisfaction, and risk, ensuring data exists before launch.
- Create portfolio, intake, and roadmap reporting that turns data into actionable decisions.
- Strengthen stakeholder trust through clear ownership, transparent prioritization, predictable communication, and follow-through.
Qualifications
- 7+ years in Talent Acquisition Operations, Recruiting Operations, People Technology, or technical program management supporting a talent or HR function.
- Demonstrated end-to-end ownership of complex, cross-functional programs at global or multi-region scale.
- Hands-on ATS administration and configuration experience (Greenhouse strongly preferred; Workday Recruiting, SmartRecruiters, Lever, iCIMS, or Ashby considered).
- Experience leading at least one system implementation or migration end to end.
- Process design and change management experience, turning ambiguous workflows into documented, adopted standards.
- Working fluency with reporting and analytics, including defining measures, building dashboards, and reasoning about data models (BI tooling required; SQL a plus).
- Strong written communication skills, producing executive one-pagers, status narratives, and decision documents.
- Track record of influencing senior stakeholders without formal authority, including managing scope, sequencing, and quality.
- Comfort with ambiguity, able to scope plans for vague, politically complex problems.
Pay
The base salary range for this role is $93,800—$172,000 USD. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as experience, skills, and location.
