About the role

We are seeking a strategic and execution-focused Senior Manager, Supply Chain to lead end-to-end supply chain performance for our Space Electronics business unit.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the supply chain strategy for the Space Electronics business unit in alignment with business growth objectives, customer commitments, and operational priorities.
  • Collaborate with the broader Rocketdyne supply chain organization to leverage best practices, resource flexibility and process optimization in support of Rocketdyne as a whole.
  • Lead core supply chain functions including planning, procurement, strategic sourcing, inventory control, supplier management, and material readiness.
  • Build and lead a high-performing team with clear roles, strong accountability, and a culture of collaboration, urgency, and continuous improvement.
  • Drive material availability and on-time delivery performance for complex electronic assemblies, components, and long-lead commodities.
  • Partner with Program Management, Operations, Engineering, and Quality to align supply chain execution with production schedules, customer milestones, new product introduction, and program requirements.
  • Strengthen supplier performance through segmentation, scorecards, business reviews, risk management, corrective actions, and development plans.
  • Establish sourcing strategies for critical electronic components, including semiconductors, PCBs, machined parts, and specialty materials, with focus on continuity of supply, quality, and cost competitiveness.
  • Establish and track business performance metrics for the Space Electronics business unit, providing regular updates to senior leadership.
  • Support mitigation plans for shortages, sole-source dependencies, long lead times, obsolescence, and other supply continuity risks common in aerospace and space electronics environments.
  • Support make-versus-buy decisions, capacity planning, and supply chain readiness for product transitions from development into low-rate and full-rate production.
  • Improve planning discipline, inventory accuracy, and working capital performance while maintaining high service levels and program execution.
  • Implement and reinforce standard work, management operating rhythms, KPIs, and escalation processes across the supply chain organization.
  • Use and improve ERP/MRP systems, analytics, and reporting tools to improve material visibility, forecast accuracy, shortage management, and decision-making.
  • Negotiate supplier agreements and key commercial terms to improve delivery performance, cost structure, flexibility, and long-term supplier partnerships.
  • Collaborate with Quality and Engineering to support supplier qualification, first article requirements, change control, counterfeit material prevention, and compliance with customer and regulatory standards.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or other operational excellence tools to reduce lead times, improve execution, and increase organizational scalability.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable contractual, regulatory, and quality requirements, including ITAR, AS9100, customer flow-downs, and government program expectations as applicable.

Qualifications

  • 12+ years of progressive supply chain experience, including significant leadership responsibility in aerospace, defense, electronics, or another highly regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Proven leadership experience across planning, procurement, sourcing, supplier management, inventory control, and material execution.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain challenges associated with electronics manufacturing, including long-lead components, constrained supply, lifecycle management, and obsolescence.
  • Demonstrated success improving on-time delivery, supplier performance, inventory health, material availability, and cost performance through disciplined execution.
  • Experience leading cross-functional problem-solving in support of production, program execution, and customer commitments.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to translate operational priorities into measurable results and scalable processes.
  • Experience working in ERP/MRP-driven environments (Deltek Costpoint preferred) and using data to manage performance and drive decisions.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills, with the ability to influence across functions and levels of the organization.
  • Knowledge of aerospace quality and regulatory environments including AS9100, FAA, DoD, or ITAR requirements preferred.
  • Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 15 years of prior related experience.
  • Graduate Degree with a minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
  • In lieu of a degree, minimum of 19 years of prior related experience.

Preferred Additional Skills

  • Experience supporting space, defense, avionics, satellite, or other high-reliability electronics products.
  • Experience managing suppliers of electronic components, PCBs, precision machined parts, and outside processing services.
  • Background in new product introduction, production ramp, and supply chain readiness for technically complex programs.
  • Experience in vertically integrated manufacturing environments.
