About the role

The Senior Manager, Strategic Sourcing is responsible for leading the development and execution of sourcing strategies to ensure reliable, cost-effective, and scalable supply of contractors, materials, and services across IREN’s growing portfolio of projects and markets. This role is critical to mitigating supply chain risks, securing vendor capacity, and enabling successful project delivery in new and existing markets. Operating in a fast-paced and evolving environment, the Senior Manager will establish sourcing frameworks, build supplier strategies, and drive early market engagement to support long-term growth. This is a newly established role designed to strengthen strategic alignment, supplier engagement, and execution as HPC infrastructure continues to scale. The position provides an opportunity to shape how Procurement partners with the business, ensuring early involvement, strong supplier relationships, and effective delivery across the HPC ecosystem.

Responsibilities

  • Lead development and execution of sourcing strategies aligned with project pipelines and expansion plans.
  • Own end-to-end supplier identification, qualification, and onboarding workflows to support rapid scaling across markets and projects.
  • Implement supplier onboarding standards (due diligence, safety/insurance, compliance, master data setup, and onboarding documentation) in partnership with Legal, HSE, Finance, and Operations.
  • Develop and maintain preferred supplier programs, including prequalification criteria, tiering, and refresh cadences for strategic categories.
  • Establish supplier relationship management (SRM) routines for key vendors (scorecards, QBRs, performance reviews, and corrective action plans) to improve delivery, quality, safety, and cost.
  • Define operational governance with suppliers, including KPIs/SLAs, escalation paths, change-order controls, and dispute resolution mechanisms.
  • Ensure contracts are operationalized through clear scopes of work, rate structures, and performance expectations that enable predictable execution for project teams.
  • Risk Management
    • Identify and mitigate risks related to vendor availability, pricing volatility, geographic constraints, and single-source dependencies.
    • Provide forward-looking insights on market conditions, capacity constraints, and sourcing risks.
    • Partner with project and operations teams to anticipate and address supply challenges early.
  • Cross-Functional Alignment
    • Collaborate with Project Management, Construction, Operations, and Technical teams to align sourcing strategies with demand forecasts.
    • Act as a key interface between procurement and project delivery teams to ensure sourcing supports execution timelines.
  • Process & Capability Development
    • Establish and standardize sourcing processes, tools, and vendor frameworks.
    • Contribute to building a scalable procurement function as the business grows.
    • Drive continuous improvement across sourcing practices and supplier management.

Requirements

  • 8–12+ years in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain roles.
  • Proven experience sourcing contractors and/or project-based services in complex environments with a focus on Chillers, Heat Pumps, CDU, HTU, Dry Coolers, CRAH, CRAC, Fan-wall, Heat exchangers, Pumps, Exhaust Fans, AHU, Water Treatment Plants, Piping, PEMB, Steel, and IMP.
  • Strong commercial acumen with demonstrated success leading negotiations and contract development.
  • Experience operating in fast-paced, high-growth, or low-structure environments.
  • Track record of building supplier networks and sourcing strategies in new or underserved markets.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in construction, infrastructure, energy, or mission-critical/data center environments.
  • Experience supporting capital projects or multi-site expansions.
  • Familiarity with ERP/procurement systems and building processes from the ground up.
