About the Role

A continuous improvement strategy is integral to a Quality Management System in GCP for R&D. Global Business Operations (GBO), within Clinical Development Operations, sustains an interconnected ecosystem, empowering teams to connect ideas and create impact. The Strategic Change Enablement (SCE) Manager II is responsible for partnering across GBO to plan and deliver process improvement initiatives that support clinical research processes.

Responsibilities

  • Understand AbbVie's Quality System, GxP Regulations, and the Business Process Framework
  • Maintain awareness of Clinical Trial Management Systems and other associated systems for areas of focus
  • Partner across the GBO to support process improvement initiatives
  • Provide change management for process improvement initiatives including stakeholder and impact assessment and communications
  • Manage development of clinical research processes, including quality system documents and process maps
  • Assess metrics and measures for areas of focus
  • Manage change management programs and forums
  • Maintain initiative and change management applications
  • In partnership with SCE leadership, manage the sustainability of SCE infrastructure, change management programs, and forums in alignment with SCE strategy

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent ex-US) is required, typically in a scientific or business field. An Associate’s degree (or equivalent ex-US) with relevant experience is acceptable
  • 7+ years of Pharma-related or clinical research-related experience; 3+ years of experience preferably within clinical research
  • Experience in process management, optimization, and simplification work is required
  • Experience in change management is required
  • Effective leadership skills with a proven ability to foster team productivity and cohesiveness in a Matrix environment
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Change management and/or Lean Six Sigma certification or experience is desired
