Senior Manager, Software Engineering - Claims

Responsibilities

  • Manage the core Claims processing system, owning all development, testing, and maintenance cycles.
  • Work closely with cross-functional stakeholders including Business, Product, Operations, and Production Support to enhance the Claims platform and automate processes to improve Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Partner with Product teams to define, prioritize, and manage the technical claims roadmap, ensuring the architecture meets current and future business needs.
  • Lead the team’s adoption of AI-powered developer tools (GitHub Copilot, Cursor, WindSurf) and drive architectural decisions for AI-native, Agentic solutions (LangChain or Google ADK).
  • Guide the team in building scalable, cloud-native backend services and integrations using Java/Spring Cloud, Kafka, AWS, Kubernetes, PostgreSQL, and Business Rules Management Systems (BRMS).

Requirements

  • Masters’ or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 12 years of software engineering experience, with at least 3 years of experience directly managing engineering teams.
  • Proven experience working in the Healthcare Payer or Provider domain; familiarity with claims adjudication, partner integrations, and healthcare payments is highly preferred.
  • Well-versed with the Agile development lifecycle, with a strong track record of building, launching, and maintaining complex, data-intensive systems.
  • Working knowledge of AI coding and Agentic processes; foundational understanding of Large Language Models (LLMs) and their application.
  • Excellent communication skills to bridge technical architecture discussions with business needs across all levels and teams.

  • Familiarity with claims adjudication, partner integrations, and healthcare payments.
  • Strong track record in Agile development and managing complex, data-intensive systems.
  • Foundational understanding of AI coding and Agentic processes.
  • Excellent cross-functional communication skills.

Benefits

  • Hybrid position based out of San Francisco, CA, Plano, TX, or Lehi, UT.
  • Two days per week in the office for hybrid employees.
  • Salary range: $200,000—$250,000 USD for San Francisco, CA; $160,000—$200,000 USD for Lehi, UT; $176,000—$220,000 USD for Plano, TX.
  • Stock options: 330,000 shares.
  • Benefits: health insurance, 401k, and paid time off.

  • San Francisco, CA: $200,000—$250,000 USD
  • Lehi, UT: $160,000—$200,000 USD
  • Plano, TX: $176,000—$220,000 USD

Schedule

  • Hybrid position with two days per week in the office.
