Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a diverse engineering team, promoting technical excellence and collaboration
- Define technical roadmap for variant classification systems to align with business goals
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver effective solutions
- Drive the design and implementation of tools for variant interpretation
- Oversee the maintenance of systems to convert bioinformatic data into actionable information
- Establish engineering standards and best practices including CI/CD and incident response
- Manage team performance, capacity, hiring, and development
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- 6+ years of software engineering experience
- 3+ years in IT leadership roles
- 3+ years managing software engineering teams
- 6+ years developing complex software systems using RESTful APIs and microservices
- Strong technical skills in Python, relational databases, and cloud platforms
- Experience with front-end technologies and modern web development frameworks
