Responsibilities

  • Oversee software architecture, development, debugging, and enhancement activities in line with design specifications and business requirements.
  • Advocate for and drive improvements within existing architectures, guiding your team in delivering resilient, automated, and scalable solutions.
  • Set clear, measurable goals; monitor progress and hold teams accountable for achieving key deliverables at high quality.
  • Define and execute the technology roadmap and operational strategies for service stability, developer efficiency, and AI initiatives, ensuring alignment with OCI’s priorities.
  • Build and maintain operational support structure for your services, including on-call rotations. Lead operational incidents to resolution as necessary. Deliver post-mortem analysis for operational incidents and drive necessary improvements in process and services to improve availability as a result.
  • Articulate forward-looking plans, strategies, and project outcomes to leadership and stakeholders, ensuring widespread understanding, support, and alignment.
  • Responsible for hiring plans and attainment of hiring goals. Lead by example in identifying and nurturing talent, conducting career development conversations, and promoting a culture of continuous learning and advancement.

Qualifications

  • Leadership Experience: 10 years engineering experience, including at least 2 years as a people manager or in a technical leadership role.
  • Technical Proficiency: A strong, hands-on background in cloud technologies, infrastructure automation, distributed systems, and software development. Networking experience is preferred.
  • Vision: Proven ability to define and execute strategic and operational roadmaps for technical organizations.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to collaborate well with cross-functional teams.
  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required. Advanced degrees or relevant certifications in project/program management preferred.
  • Passion for Excellence: Demonstrated drive to create and lead world-class engineering teams and the mindset to foster excellence.
