About the role

We are looking for a Senior SDM to lead the Apollo charter within the Software Foundation Management organization. • Lead a team of SDMs and Principal/Senior Engineers, building organizational capability while delivering on ambitious roadmaps.
  • Own the end-to-end operational posture of Apollo, driving improvements in detection, mitigation, and prevention of large-scale incidents across a globally distributed system.
  • Partner with senior leadership across AWS and Amazon to align Apollo's strategy with broader platform modernization initiatives, including Deployment to native EC2, and Serverless.
  • Make high-judgment trade-off decisions across competing priorities: customer adoption, platform reliability, security compliance, and engineering velocity.
  • Represent Apollo in cross-organizational forums, influencing technical direction for deployment infrastructure across Amazon.
  • Build a culture of operational excellence, ensuring your teams maintain the highest bar for Tier-1 service ownership, COE quality, and incident response.
