About the role
Cvent is seeking a visionary yet hands-on Senior Manager, Social Media to build, scale, and reinvent how our brand shows up across the social landscape. In this role, you will be the architect and primary driver of Cvent's organic social strategy—creating breakthrough content, elevating our executive and employee voices, and shaping how millions understand and engage with our brand. This is a rare opportunity to redefine the social voice for a global B2B technology leader in a category undergoing rapid change.
What you'll do
- Develop and lead Cvent's global organic social media strategy spanning brand-owned channels, executive thought leadership, and employee advocacy; act as a key consultant to support/grow our paid external influencer strategy
- Define channel purpose, target audiences, editorial approach, and KPIs for each platform; confidently communicate this to C-Level executives and the broader marketing organization
- Determine when certain channels no longer serve our purpose and/or compile clear business cases for resource expansion (and attributed expected outcomes) to maximize channel impact long-term
- Bring organic social into the center of the marketing mix—integrating tightly with Brand, PR, Content, Product Marketing, Communications, and Events
- Oversee daily operations, campaign execution, and content distribution across LinkedIn, Instagram, Threads, TikTok, Facebook, X, and new/emerging platforms
- Govern the ecosystem of accounts across acquired brands—partnering with stakeholders to consolidate, evolve, or sunset channels strategically
- Set high standards for community-driven engagement, responsiveness, and social listening
- Work collaboratively with creative leaders to expand social-first creative resources and integrate those subject matter experts into the social media content creation and strategic planning process
- Establish and uphold Cvent's social visual identity, tone of voice, and storytelling principles across regions and channels
- Develop culturally relevant, thumb-stopping content that brings the Cvent story to life across formats
- Drive a bold, outside-the-box, AI-first creative approach—accelerating video/short-form content, motion, and narrative output through emerging tools and automation
- Build and operationalize a scalable executive social strategy to increase visibility, brand reach, thought leadership, and industry influence across regions
- Enhance and manage an exciting, engaging employee advocacy program that equips internal ambassadors to amplify brand narratives and their own expertise across their networks
- Confidently navigate (and capitalize on) the unique differences between a brand-owned employee advocacy program and employee-driven thought leadership/brand awareness program
- Identify organic influencer and creator partnership opportunities to expand reach beyond owned channels
- Set KPIs and build a measurement framework that proves the value of social in driving brand perception, demand creation, and community growth
- Monitor platform trends, cultural moments, and competitive intelligence to keep Cvent ahead of the curve
- Translate social insights into strategic recommendations that influence broader content and brand strategies
- Manage and mentor a team of social professionals (India-based team, with potential for future expansion); provide creative guidance, clear priorities, and development opportunities for a distributed team
- In the near term, serve as the primary U.S.-based producer and executor, modeling excellence in hands-on creation
Experience & expertise
- 12-15+ years of experience in social media, digital marketing, or brand communications for modern, global brands (B2B experience strongly preferred)
- Proven ability to distill complex marketing plans, individual/team requests, vertical-oriented messaging, and corporate-level themes into a compelling social strategy and engaging content
- A track record of transforming social channels into brand, engagement, and thought leadership engines
- Deep fluency in platform best practices across LinkedIn, TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, X, Facebook, and emerging channels
- Demonstrated experience using AI tools to scale content creation, editing, analysis, brand consistency and workflow efficiency
- History of building and managing global teams while remaining a hands-on content creator and operator
Creative & strategic skills
- Strong storytelling instincts and a creative point of view that cuts through noise
- Proven ability to blend analytical rigor with imaginative ideas
- Comfort experimenting with new formats, cultural trends, and earned/owned influencer strategies
- Experience developing and managing successful executive visibility strategies or employee advocacy programs
Leadership qualities
- Inspirational leader capable of elevating teams, cross-functional partners, and agency collaborators
- Operational discipline to scale processes, governance, and systems as the program grows
- Comfortable debating social ideas and empowering stakeholders with compelling alternate options when brand-owned social channels may not be the right fit
- Executive presence and communication skills to influence at the highest levels of the organization
