Work Model

This role operates in a dynamic environment focused on delivering world-class technical information and diagnostic tools to dealers and third parties for Hyundai and Genesis vehicles in the US.

What You Will Do

  • Provide Dealers and related third Parties with world class technical information and diagnostic tools to effectively and efficiently maintain and repair Hyundai and Genesis vehicles in the US.
  • Support achieving company objectives for Fix Right First Time in support of benchmark levels of Service Satisfaction/CSI and Total Cost of Quality including warranty cost.
  • Support NHTSA compliance through effective support of recall/campaign completion.

How You Will Make An Impact

  • Lead publication of Service Manuals, Technical Information, TSBs, and other publications in collaboration with HMC and Quality/Service Engineering, leveraging omni-channel technology to provide dealers and the repair industry with information needed to maintain, diagnose, and repair vehicles.
  • Develop, implement, and support the Global Diagnostic System (GDS) platform and applications with HMC and key affiliates to enable effective vehicle diagnosis and repair.
  • Lead AI-forward initiatives across aftersales, including AI-powered diagnostic and repair assistance, automated warranty validation, telematics-based repair guidance, data governance, AI readiness, solution evaluation, benchmarking, and deployment recommendations.
  • Lead strategy, development, and modernization of diagnostic and telematics portfolios, including RDSP and next-generation platform transitions (HTI/GTI to GSW/GSI, Cloud Diagnostic Platform).
  • Lead Right-to-Repair (RTR) compliance and strategy for HMA and Genesis, including J2534 pass-thru, data-stream availability, MOU obligations, and alignment with HMC.
  • Establish KPIs, performance measurements, Jira reporting, and executive dashboards to identify performance gaps and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Develop business plans, budgets, staffing strategies, and external partner strategies; track performance and make adjustments as needed.
  • Recruit, hire, train, coach, develop, and retain employees; establish goals, conduct performance reviews, and provide career development guidance.
  • Evaluate, select, contract with, and manage vendors; conduct RFPs, draft scopes and contracts, manage vendor performance, purchase requests, invoice payments, travel, and expense approvals.
  • Negotiate and approve software licensing, diagnostic-tool commercial agreements, and lead policy development and governance in accordance with HMA delegation of authority.

Qualifications

  • Must be a high school graduate.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in Engineering or related science.
  • Master’s degree a plus.
  • Eight or more years of related Automotive or similar technical industry experience.
  • Prior supervisory experience is desired.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); advanced Excel and data visualization/BI (e.g., Power BI) with strong executive presentation skills.
  • Thorough automotive technical knowledge required.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong analytical/problem solving ability.
  • Strong data management/general and statistical analysis/reporting capabilities.
  • Strong organizational skills yet flexible to accomplish objectives that are often subject to change.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision and direction.
  • Working knowledge of AI/ML concepts, with experience overseeing AI/agent solution implementations.
  • Familiarity with automotive diagnostic platforms and telematics (e.g., diagnostic scan tools, TIS, J2534).
  • Knowledge of Right-to-Repair (RTR) regulatory requirements and data/security governance principles.
  • Experience with software licensing/contract negotiation and vendor management.
  • Experience leveraging process automation and workflow tools (e.g., Power Automate, Copilot Studio) to drive operational efficiency.

Pay

Compensation Range: $114,800.00 - $164,000.00 annual base salary

Schedule & Physical Requirements

  • Physical requirements: Normal office duties. Occasional lifting and/or vehicle mechanical assembly/disassembly.
  • Work requires vehicle evaluations, travel to meetings, site visits, and inspections. This requires possession of a valid state driver’s license and good driving record.
  • Work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule. Work may require occasional weekend and/or evening work.
  • Up to 25% domestic travel and occasional international travel, including Korea.
