SENIOR MANAGER, SECTION & CHAPTER EVENTS
About the Role
The Senior Manager, Section & Chapter Events leads the planning and execution of a wide range of events across the organization, including section, chapter, leadership, and webinar programs. This role is responsible for ensuring these events effectively engage members and volunteers while maintaining financial success and operational excellence. The position also supports volunteer leadership and drives improvements in financial and operational processes to enhance the overall member experience.
Responsibilities
- Lead planning and execution of over 130 annual events including section, chapter, leadership, and webinars.
- Manage event logistics such as venue sourcing, contracting, audiovisual, catering, and onsite management.
- Oversee registration, sponsorship fulfillment, and mobile app execution for events.
- Serve as liaison to volunteer leaders, providing operational support, training, and ensuring compliance with organizational policies.
- Cook up financial transactions, sponsorship management, budgeting, and reporting.
- Develop and improve event workflows and operational procedures.
- Provide onsite event management support as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of chapter leadership and activities.
- Support communications, training materials, and volunteer engagement initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in hospitality management, event management, business administration, communications, or related field.
- 5-8+ years of experience in association event management, conference planning, or membership operations.
- Experience managing multiple events and volunteer-led programs.
- Knowledge of PCMA standards and association meeting best practices preferred; CMP certification preferred.
- Experience with sponsorship management and event revenue coordination.
- Familiarity with event registration platforms, mobile apps, and association management systems.
- Willingness to travel and provide onsite event support.
- Strong organizational and project management skills; ability to manage multiple priorities and budgets.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
