Senior Manager Sales and Use Tax
Job Summary

Job Responsibilities
- Manage taxability determinations related to Vertex O Series, Lawson billing, taxability decision matrices, and warehouse tax collection solution.
- Manage analytical reporting from various systems: Vertex, Business Objects, MS Access, Excel, and Alteryx.
- Review results and identify improvement opportunities.
- Using technology and automation, develop and implement strategies to increase compliance accuracy and a systematic process of monitoring sales and use tax for HCA.
- Create and maintain a tax business partner model for HCA’s businesses.
- Assist with contract review and planning and vendor negotiation regarding indirect tax language and product or service taxability.
- Manage the work of outside consultants for sales and use tax projects.
- Manage research, planning, and audits related to sales and use taxes.
- Advise on business license and sales and use tax compliance.
- Manage sales and use tax analysis for SOX 404 and ASC450 reserves.
- Create internal tax training sessions for accountants, attorneys, purchasing personnel, and accounts payable specialists.
- Supervise and train staff.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree is required, Accounting degree is preferred.
- Experience in Vertex Indirect Tax O Series sales and use tax solutions.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and tax research tools.
- Experience with data visualization applications, ETL tools (i.e., Alteryx), and SAP Business Objects.
- J.D., CPA, or CMI-Sales Tax preferred.
- More than 10 years of experience.
- 7-10 years of management work experience.
- PREFER working knowledge of medical products taxability.
- Must be able to travel up to 10% of the time.
