About the role
The Senior Manager, Revenue Accounting will lead a team of five and serve as the company’s subject matter expert on revenue recognition. This role is critical to scaling a global SaaS business, ensuring accurate and compliant revenue reporting while enabling complex commercial arrangements.
Responsibilities
Revenue Accounting & Close Ownership
- Own end-to-end revenue recognition under ASC 606 and IFRS 15 across SaaS subscriptions, professional services, usage-based, and revenue share arrangements
- Apply the five-step revenue model to complex, multi-element arrangements including bundled offerings, multi-year contracts, and variable consideration structures
- Deferred Revenue and Unbilled reconciliation for multiple entities, product lines, and revenue streams
- Ensure accurate and timely revenue reporting, reconciliations, and month-end close processes
Technical Accounting & Contract Review
- Evaluate new and modified contracts to determine revenue recognition implications
- Partner with legal, deal desk, and sales operations to review non-standard terms and provide structuring guidance
- Prepare clear, audit-ready technical accounting memos supporting conclusions and judgments
- Identify and document key differences between ASC 606 and IFRS 15, supporting dual-GAAP reporting where required
Revenue Share & Partner Arrangements
- Lead accounting for reseller, partner, and revenue share agreements
- Perform principal vs. agent assessments and determine gross vs. net revenue presentation
- Estimate and constrain variable consideration using appropriate methodologies
- Develop and maintain revenue waterfall models and support reconciliation to partner statements
Audit & Compliance
- Serve as primary point of contact for auditors on all revenue-related matters
- Maintain audit-ready documentation, including contract review frameworks and system configurations
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and global accounting policies
Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of revenue accountants
- Establish scalable processes and review frameworks to support company growth
- Foster strong cross-functional collaboration across finance, legal, and commercial teams
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; CPA strongly preferred
- 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 4 years in revenue accounting within a SaaS or recurring revenue environment
- Deep expertise in ASC 606, with demonstrated experience applying the five-step model to complex arrangements
- Working knowledge of IFRS 15 and experience supporting multi-GAAP or international reporting environments
- Hands-on experience with NetSuite, including Advanced Revenue Management (ARM)
Preferred Skills
- Experience with revenue share, reseller, or partner/channel arrangements
- Familiarity with quote-to-cash tools such as Salesforce CPQ, ZoneBilling, SuiteBilling, RevPro, or Workiva
- Experience supporting international entities with multiple currencies and statutory reporting requirements
- Involvement in NetSuite ARM implementations, upgrades, or significant system enhancements
