About the role

We are seeking a Senior Manager, Regulatory Affairs to lead our regulatory function and compliance strategy across dietary supplement and consumer health product lines. This is a high-ownership role reporting directly to the Director of Legal & Strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Regulatory Leadership:
    • Lead regulatory strategy and submissions for new and existing dietary supplement products, including structure/function claims substantiation, label review, and 75-day notifications to FDA.
    • Maintain and lead the regulatory team, providing oversight on day-to-day tasks, professional development guidance, and quality review of deliverables.
  • Cross-Functional Partnership:
    • Partner with R&D, Innovation, Quality, Supply Chain, and Operations to provide proactive regulatory guidance throughout the product development and launch lifecycle.
    • Collaborate with Marketing and Legal on product claims, advertising compliance, and go-to-market strategy, ensuring regulatory rigor without slowing down the business.
    • Serve as the regulatory voice in product launch processes, flagging issues early and bringing solutions, not just problems.
    • Proactively manage team capacity, anticipating bandwidth constraints, redistributing workload, and communicating trade-offs before they become obstacles for cross-functional partners.
  • Compliance Infrastructure:
    • Build and maintain regulatory documentation, SOPs, and internal guidance frameworks that scale with Ritual's growth.
    • Ensure labeling, packaging, and marketing materials meet all applicable regulatory requirements before launch.
    • Drive continuous improvement in how we manage regulatory risk across the product lifecycle.

Requirements

  • 5–8 years of regulatory affairs experience in dietary supplements, nutraceuticals, pharma, or consumer health products.
  • At least 1–2 years in a role with people leadership responsibilities.
  • Deep working knowledge of FDA regulations governing dietary supplements (DSHEA, 21 CFR Part 111, structure/function claim requirements) and FTC advertising guidelines.
  • Experience managing regulatory submissions, label review, and cross-functional product launches end to end.
  • Bachelor's degree in a life science, pharmacy, food science, or related field. Preferred advanced degree (MS, PharmD, or equivalent).
  • Familiarity with Health Canada NHP regulations and EU food supplement frameworks.
  • Prior experience operating as a solo or lead regulatory function - building processes, not just following them.
  • Prior experience working within AI systems (Claude, Notion AI, etc.).
