Responsibilities
- Provides primary day-to-day direction to the regulatory compliance operations team to ensure that:
- advertising, marketing and enrollment materials, and all other public and student-facing communications are reviewed for compliance with Covista policies as well as state and federal regulations governing all Covista institutions and business units;
- enrollment materials and catalog content are developed and revised as needed to comply with regulatory changes and accreditor requirements and that regulatory disclosure requirements are met;
- compliance responsibilities are met by every Covista institution and business unit.
- Establishes and maintains effective compliance review processes and controls to ensure institutions meet applicable regulatory requirements and institutional standards.
- Is the subject matter expert for do not contact compliance; collaborates and manages the business relationship with the vendor to design and implement strategies, processes, and procedures to mitigate risk and assure compliance.
- Ensures all projects and inquiries submitted by stakeholders are reviewed and responded to timely and with a high level of quality.
- Attends implementation and other strategy meetings to provide regulatory guidance and recommendations for new growth programs and initiatives; provides consultation to senior management on the development and implementation of those strategic business decisions and new initiatives, and recommends corrective actions plans where appropriate.
- Serves on multiple work groups/implementation committees to assure operating compliance with state and accreditor regulatory requirements for new programs and other organizational projects.
- Performs due diligence for federal, state and provincial laws and regulations related to merger and acquisition activity.
- Develops regulatory compliance procedures and training required for operating the organization and its divisions in a compliant manner.
- Timely analyzes, interprets and communicates regulatory changes. Assesses operational impact, communicates and directs implementation of changes.
- Engages organizational units to identify compliance gaps through daily interactions with project teams and committees.
- Identifies areas of opportunity and develops process improvements to close gaps and when appropriate, advises management to set broad operational standards to comply with multiple state rules and regulations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree required and Master's Degree preferred
- 8+ years minimum years of experience in regulatory assurance, compliance or licensing required
- 2+ years of supervisory experience required
- Experience in the education services sector highly encouraged required
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent working knowledge of with MS Word, SharePoint, PowerPoint and Excel a must
- Must be familiar with the standards and requirements of multiple state authorizing agencies and institutional / programmatic accreditors
- Demonstrate the ability to establish and develop positive relationships with senior leaders and other key stakeholders
- Must possess strong critical thinking skills to decipher regulatory requirements that may not be explicit
Additional Information
In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected salary range for this position is between $80336.75 and $145077.09. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
