Senior Manager, Product Management

About the role

The Product Manager is responsible for leading the product lifecycle from concept to launch, translating market opportunities and customer demand into viable products and services that differentiate Equinix in the market.

Responsibilities

• Team Leadership
• Leads a team of product managers
• Provides leadership and direction to the team, through managers
• Led a larger team focused on team and/or area objectives
• Accountable for the performance and results of direct reports, with regional or global responsibilities
• Succession planning recommendations and driving the people development strategy
• Performance management of team members, including disciplinary actions and hire/fire decisions recommendations
• Total Rewards allocations of direct reports
• Talent development, including quarterly conversations, career pathways conversations and individual development growth plans
• Models the Equinix Culture and Values
• Product Interlock
• Coordinates with cross-functional teams to ensure Product Management is effective
• Product Strategy
• Develops and executes innovative approaches to scale our product offerings
• Accountable for the product lines performance
• Proactively engages with Director level and VP level stakeholders to drive alignment with product roadmap to achieve product lifecycle objectives
• Mentors their team in developing products that resonate with customers
• Evangilizes their products product lines
• Product / Domain Expertise
• Seen as a product lines expert
• Engaging regularly with customers and internal teams to explain the product lines
• Resource and Budget Management
• Ensures resource allocations based on Org priorities
• Works closely with cross functional leads and project managers to track resource allocation and utilization for portfolio projects
• Identifies potential budget shortfalls and escalate proactively
• Manages and/or escalates issues, as needed
• Provides input to the annual budget planning process relating to project support, SW maintenance, renewals, purchases etc for his or her areas of responsibility
• Reviews and optimizes budget allocation
• Process Policies Standards
• Ensures departmental process policies standards are aligned with product priorities
• Defines process goals and measurement standards to ensure compliance
• Optimizes processes to ensure continuous process improvement to drive process quality and productivity
• Ensures consistency and efficiencies across standards and policies

Qualifications

• 15+ years experience preferred
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
