Senior Manager, Product Management
Our client is a global, full-service law firm in the middle of a firm-wide product and AI transformation. Data, product, and engineering sit together under a Chief Data & AI Officer with real executive sponsorship and a clear build-over-buy mandate for AI. The firm takes a long view and funds the tooling and headcount its teams need, and as a private partnership it moves with noticeably less bureaucracy than a publicly traded company. This is a genuine product organization, not a project management function relabeled.
About the role
The Product Management Senior Manager reports directly to the Product Management Associate Director and serves as a key product leader on the Finance Product Team, partnering with stakeholders across the CFO’s organization to deliver data, reporting, and analytics solutions. The stakeholder base spans roughly ten distinct finance teams, including pricing (notably alternative fee arrangements), treasury, procurement, billing, and partner matters, each with its own needs and solutions. This is a senior individual contributor role with no direct reports; the emphasis is on owning the end-to-end product lifecycle for defined finance workstreams and on independently running discovery and facilitating working sessions with senior finance leaders.
Responsibilities
- Stakeholder Partnership & Discovery
- Serve as the primary product partner for finance stakeholders, building trust with senior business leaders across the CFO’s organization
- Independently run discovery sessions and facilitate working meetings, surfacing the real pain points behind stated requests
- Translate finance and accounting business requirements into high-value product initiatives
- Represent the product team in forums leadership does not need to attend, and report back with a clear point of view
- Product Strategy & Roadmap
- Execute product roadmaps for assigned finance workstreams, translating strategy into concrete delivery plans
- Own and prioritize the product backlog based on business value, feasibility, and capacity
- Write clear product requirement documentation and prototype early to pressure-test direction
- Define product goals, KPIs, and success metrics, and hold the work to them
- Delivery & Execution
- Lead end-to-end product lifecycles spanning discovery, requirements, development, testing, UAT, and deployment
- Partner with engineering, data, and analytics teams to ship reporting and analytics solutions, including AI capabilities
- Work alongside product owners on day-to-day execution, tracking work to completion and adjusting as issues surface
- Iterate post-launch on user feedback and defects, then quantify and communicate the impact of the work
- Mentorship
- Mentor and develop junior product team members, promoting collaboration, accountability, and continuous growth
- Model product management fundamentals for a team with deep business acumen and less formal product experience
Requirements
- 7+ years of professional experience, with 5+ years in a product management role

- Hands-on experience with Jira, Confluence, or equivalent agile tooling
- Ability to translate complex, ambiguous business requirements into executable product plans
- Product experience on business- or customer-facing teams rather than internal platform work only
- Strong organization, attention to detail, and analytical thinking, with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Familiarity with finance or accounting concepts and systems a plus (for example, cash versus accrual basis)
- Experience using AI tools to accelerate prototyping and requirements drafting a plus
- Background in professional services, financial services, insurance, or public accounting a plus
