Senior Manager, Platform Security Engineering & Transformation
About the Role
Wells Fargo is seeking a proven technology leader for a hybrid position, requiring three days in the office and two days working from home. This role is ideal for someone who has successfully led large teams through transformation, modernization, and organizational change, with a focus on AI adoption and platform-driven ways of working. The position does not offer visa sponsorship or transfers.
Responsibilities
- Manage a team of Information Security Engineers responsible for designing, documenting, testing, maintaining, and providing issue resolution for complex security solutions related to networking, cryptography, cloud, authentication, directory services, email, internet, applications, and endpoint security.
- Lead and influence information security and line of business management to identify, formulate, and implement security solutions and controls.
- Oversee a critical security engineering organization responsible for enterprise platforms and services, driving teams to embrace new technologies, automation, and operational models.
- Set guidelines for compliance and risk management, working with stakeholders to implement key risk initiatives.
- Manage the implementation of information security measures, including availability, integrity, confidentiality, risk management, threat identification, monitoring, incident response, access management, and business continuity.
- Maintain awareness of the state of information security across the enterprise and industry, influencing changes to security policies, standards, and procedures.
- Lead large, companywide projects and initiatives, representing the organization to regulators, industry groups, and governmental agencies.
- Advise executive management on critical issues and manage resource allocations for Information Security Architecture.
- Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy.
- Lead Production Services and Platform Support teams to ensure application stability, service reliability, incident response, resiliency, change readiness, and technology support.
- Translate executive strategy into actionable roadmaps, priorities, milestones, and deliverables, driving timely execution across complex initiatives.
- Transform traditional application support models into platform-focused, engineering-led capabilities.
- Build and mature Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices, including service health measurement, observability, resiliency engineering, performance improvement, and continuous improvement.
- Lead vulnerability management execution, partnering with Cyber Security, Infrastructure, Cloud, and Application Development teams to accelerate remediation and reduce technology risk.
- Drive adoption of automation and Agentic AI to enhance service delivery, reduce manual effort, and increase engineering productivity.
- Lead modernization efforts across cloud, container, platform, and emerging technology environments, ensuring production readiness and supportability.
- Establish clear metrics, accountability routines, executive updates, and delivery checkpoints to drive transparency and action.
- Identify and resolve risks, dependencies, blockers, and organizational friction with urgency and ownership.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of Information Security Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education.
- 3+ years of management or leadership experience.
